About Our Namesake: Hanny Arram
Hanny Essam Arram graduated from Kearney High School in 1997. He was born in Kearney to Essam and Barbara Arram on August 3, 1978. Hanny had a true passion for playing the guitar and listening to music. He was a gregarious, loving person with many friends. Hanny was also a big NASCAR fan. Following the Earnhardt’s, he developed and raced his own race car. After attending UNK, Hanny worked with his dad’s family business in various developments in Kearney.
Hanny has a younger brother Tarik Arram, and an older sister Nadia Saadi married to Camil and they have 3 children Laila, Emily, and Amir. Hanny lost his younger sister, Alia Arram in a car accident in 1997.
Hanny moved to North Carolina for about 2 years but he always knew he could not stay away from Kearney. He came back with the most beautiful and nicest person. Courtney (Peplinski) and Hanny were married in 2005 in a traditional Arabic 7-day celebration. Hanny and Courtney have 2 precious children, Essam born in 2006, and Sophie born in 2011. Hanny suffered a fatal, massive heart attack on December 27, 2012.
Hanny was a man who loved to help others in the most unconventional ways. He would be so pleased with the work and success that will come with this center.
